The problem ”Le mur Cordier” 7A/7A+ in Franchard Cuisiniere, Fontainebleau. It is one of those boulderproblems that takes half a day to figure out the beta and once you have managed to do so the actual climb is pretty demanding. Me and James Blay, who is a really competent climber, worked the problem on our trip last spring, none of us made it to the top that day. My husband showed up between tries on ”Miséricorde” 7C+ just to check out what we were doing and basically flashed it! The frustration..
We might be just as skilled as he is but there is something about believing in yourself as a climber that makes all the difference. To approach a boulder with the mindset that you can do it makes half of the effort already completed.
