The fall is a great time to collect fruits and berries right from your backyard! Some fruits grow all over regardless if it’s in the city or on the countryside. When visiting the west coast this weekend I collected rosehip (nypon) and rowanberries (rönnbär) that both contain massive amounts of vitamins, antioxidants and other great substances that works wonders for your health. It is there for the taking and after I’ve dried it in the oven on 50 degrees celcius over night I can use it as a snack, ground it up for mixing with hot water or spread it over yoghurt.
Plums, blueberries and blackberries also grow in great amounts this month in Sweden and they count as some of the most healthy food you can possibly eat. I eat this every day of the year but it is not always for free! So go out, collect some red fruits and berries and fill up your pantry with the greatest superfruit available.
